Chagrin Falls Village Hall Brass Doorpulls (August 2024)

Repaired two doorpulls for the Chagrin Falls Town Hall. Tasks included:

• Removed old finish and polished imperfections as much as I dared, so as not to cause undue thinning.
• Re-formed plates to lie flat, or as flat as possible without causing damage.
• Filed rectangular brass inserts for thumb latch holes which had been open for years, allowing water intrusion. Soft soldered in place.
• Polished to rouge finish with polishing wheel.
• Sourced and inserted mortise lock plugs into the round lock holes at the top of the plates.

A pair of bent, scarred, pulls with missing parts.

Polished, patched, and trued as much as possible.

Installed at Chagrin Falls Village Hall. The fingerprints are a nice touch, don't you think?
