Some people argue against repairing, saying for just a little more money (or less money!) you could buy new. So why repair? There are a few reasons, some pragmatic, some value-driven:

• What you have might be as good or better than what you can buy new.
• Your item might no longer be available.
• Your item might have sentimental value or you simply like it.
• You value taking care of your things.
• You don't want to contribute to filling up landfills.
