The Chagrin Repair Shop provides repair services to the Chagrin Falls area and its neighboring communities. If you have something that you would like to have fixed, contact us to see if we can help.
Think of us as a handyman or troubleshooting service to fix things that have been bugging you. What kinds of things do we work on? Here are our most recent projects:
- Repaired Chagrin Falls Village Hall's brass doorpulls.
- Getting a DeWalt 3400 pressure washer to start.
- Repaired a Welch Calendar clock.
- Replacing an electrical outlet that was functioning intermittently.
- Repairing a Craftsman 42 cc Gas chainsaw pull-start mechanism.
- Replacing the UV cleaner in a whole-house air purifier.
- Fixing an Android phone that had fallen apart and configuring another Android phone that had malware installed on it.
We also fix things like:
Clocks
(see examples.)
Vintage woodworking tools like hand planes
(see example.)
Vintage sewing machines
(see examples.)
But we work on just about anything:
- A client brought her Android phone that she had pulled apart. We got it back together again.
- Dehumidifiers, e.g., cleaning to clear pesky maintenance errors.
- Garden hoses that leak or need new ends (see examples.)
- Computers running Windows, printers, faxes, and Mac/Apple. I have been my home-based business' IT support staff since 1998 and I'd be happy to help you.
- Frayed or loose appliance or trailer wires that need soldering and heat-shrinking.
- Hand tools of any sort that need cleaning, sharpening, or general maintenance.
- Lawnmowers and other small-engine machines.
- We will take a look at anything.
Some people argue against repairing, saying for just a little more money (or less money!) you could buy new. So why repair? There are a few reasons, some pragmatic, some value-driven:
- What you have might be as good or better than what you can buy new.
- Your item might no longer be available.
- Your item might have sentimental value or you simply like it.
- You value taking care of your things.
- You don't want to contribute to filling up landfills.
